We learnt about theory of camera movements.
Camera movements are used to enhance the emotion and to reveal elements of the media text that were not previously in the shot, and also make the viewers feel more part of the action.
Pan
-Scans the scene horizontally
-Camera turned to the side often to show a moving object
Tilt
-Similar to pan, scans the scene vertically
Dolly shot
- Can also be called a tracking shot
- Camera is put on wheels and moved on a set pathway to film an object or person
Crane shot
- Camera is mounted on a crane and moves above ground level
Hand held camera movements
- Audience sees things as if they were inside the movie
Rolling shot
- The camera moves diagonally across a frame making the image askew
- Used to make a character look ill or drugged
