What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing your product?
Whilst developing our media product we have all learnt various technologies and skills attributed with making our media products. From hardware like the Apple Macs to the software like Final Cut Pro we have learnt new skills.
Apple Macs
We have been using Apple Macs in our Media lessons, this means in Media we have acquired new skills in using Macs and have gotten used to the operating system. The Apple Macs have allowed us to use Google, Prezi and Final Cut. Final Cut Pro is special in particular to Macs as this software is only on the Mac platform making it exclusive to Mac OS. This editing software has allowed us to produce high standard, professional looking results. iPhoto and iTunes were also useful as they allowed us to download pictures and music which we could use in Media products. The overall ease of use of Macs is good as most things are fairly self explanatory and if you have problems they have a good help center.
Youtube
YouTube has allowed us to put across our media products to a wide and diverse audience and having the opportunity to get feedback. Over 4 billion people watch and upload to this site everyday. We watched lots of videos on YouTube to get inspiration with camera techniques, ideas and editing techniques, we also downloaded royalty free resources for our product. For example we used a soundtrack called Horror Ambiance #8, one of many used, from YouTube for our OTS's audio.
Weebly
When developing our Media products we used weebly as a source of advertisement. Our Weebly Website contains all the information on our OTS and preparation we did before we started our work. These things include learning new skills and learning from our mistakes as you can see in the video "RC, MC, MS, GT Bad:" and how we made things and what we researched and the ideas we have had. Weebly was simple to use and a good free way to advertise our product.
Final Cut Pro
When editing we used Final Cut Pro. This software allowed us to edit in a professional manner as it allowed us to include a wide range of video effects and transitions to help us maximise our films potential. The software also allows us to edit the audio's waveforms. This allows us to create different volumes and pan the sound from the left speaker to right. Final Cut Pro has no copywrite on the sound, this allowed us to freely use the sounds and in addition we learnt how to configure the green screen with the software to a high standard.
Camera
Everything we filmed was filmed on our schools Canon Legria HF R56 Video Cameras. These camcorders can film in 1080p HD and have great features like Optical Image Stabilisation and Wi-Fi so it can connect and stream live recorded images that can be shared remotely. It is small and compact for easy use and transport but don't be fooled with its size as its image quality is ace.
Tri-pod
When filming our Media products we use the Manfrotto 190L Tripod. It is really handy as you can take it apart for more compact transport. The tripod kept the shots steady, as a result of this, most of our shots were steady and looked professional. An example of when we used the equipment is when we filmed the preliminary task. We used it to steady the camera when filming over the shoulder shots and taking into account the 180 degree rule.
Google Chrome
Google allowed us to access a vast amount of data that we promptly took advantage of in the production of our OTS. We found resources like Prezi and GoAnimate which were very useful resources in putting information across on our website.
-Prezi
Prezi is a type of mindmap software on the internet that we used to help answer some of our questions relating to our work. We found the software was really useful and helped us put the work across effectively and clearly. We would defiantly recommend this software to others which are looking into possible mindmap softwares.

-GoAnimate
There is a piece of software called GoAnimate which is a web based product that we attempted to use in our work. Although we didn't actually include any GoAnimate in our website, we did trial it and we thought it was a good way of capturing the audiences attention while conveying important information across.
