What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?
It has been said that making a movie is not nearly as difficult as getting it distributed. This is due to the enormous amount of cost in money and time involved in distributing a movie. Therefore, a distributor must feel confident that they can make a sufficient return on their investment. Having the backing of a major studio or a well known director or star can improve the chances of getting a good distribution deal. Independent film makers often use film festivals as an opportunity to get the attention of distributors.

We attempted to make our own distribution company and named it 'Terrestrial Reach Films'. We named our distribution company this as distribution companies are usually associated with the world or global ideas such as Universal or Paramount. Using this idea of the film going around the world, we started by taking an image of the earth spinning. We then put effects and overlays onto this and created the video. Finally, we had the task of naming the distribution company. We all decided on Terrestrial Reach as it fits in with the idea of the world, giving the impression that it is professional.
