Location
We explored multiple places when looking for a place to film. We went up castle hill, Ms Wisbeys house and a little forest area behind our school. We chose Ms Wisbeys house to film in the end because it creates a fear in which the audience feels as if something like this can happen to them. This is because your home is supposed to be a safe place in which nothing bad can happen, in a way it makes it seem more realistic. The house was fairly big and sinister looking. It was a old Georgian house and we thought it would add suspense and more tension in the OTS. The other places were very good as well for example when we went up castle hill there was a very big tree which was in the middle of a massive field, it may not sound like much but in the dark at night it was quite frightening. There was a lot of empty space in which

Lighting
We tested a number of different types of lighting for example we tried to use the flash on our phones which worked close up but from far away they didn't shine bright enough. We went on to look more at lamps and normal house hold lighting but with that we found it light up the whole room instead of just a small part of it. In the end we found this bright white light which made a very dark black shadow, this also made the black and white effect while editing stand out a lot more. We attempted to make quite a scary looking shadow which look unnatural and sinister. In the end we found a long black cloak which made Aidan the actor look taller and the shadow was a figure that wasn't easy to make out. Over all the florescent white light was the sharpest and the most professional light to use.

Time of Day
We recorded all the video in our OTS at an old house at Winter late in the day so it was dark outside. We emphasised this with putting a black and white filter onto our film. In some scenes this made the image better and more effective as the dark areas had a nice fade into black and where more dark.
