Interviews
We interviewed different people at different ages so we could gain an understanding of what appeals to a range of audiences. This will provide us with a sub-genre to focus on that will appeal to our chosen audience members.

Interviews of students
We interviewed students from Churchdown about horror movies to find out what they thought was good and bad about horror films they've seen. Four out of the eight people we interviewed said their favourite film genre was horror. Only one boy said horror was his favourite genre, the rest were girls. From this we can think that our audience will be mainly girls. Five people said paranormal was their favourite sub-genre of horror, from this we can take the paranormal aspect and put it in our OTS as it seems to be quite popular, or from this we could decide that we want to do something different as maybe other people will realise the same thing and will decide to do their OTS on spirits and ghosts, therefore our group will choose something different as we want our OTS to be creative and original. From what people said were the worst horror films they've all seemed to choose films that are quite gory and bloody, from this we can understand that our audience doesn't seem to like gore and blood, therefore we will not make our OTS gory as people seem to not like it. The people we interviewed then told us the scariest films they've seen, the two most common films mentioned were 'The Conjuring' and 'The Woman In Black', these films are quite similar, as they both use children and they're both paranormal, therefore again telling us that we need to go along the paranormal route or do something completely different as other people may think the same. Also one person we interviewed said that the film Annabelle is scary as it uses demons. This is a good idea for our OTS as it's quite different, and obviously scary, and steers away from the paranormal idea but not too far. When asking interviewees what they think are the worst clichés in horror, three people thought that it was when victims run up in the house instead of running out, therefore we shall not use this in our OTS. Two people say that it was how blondes are always the victims, so taking this in mind we will also not cast a blonde victim.
